Home Group Sunday

On Sunday 31 July 2011, we would like to celebrate HOME GROUP SUNDAY. Home groups form an important part of the life and witness of St. John`s Community. Home groups are places of safety and sharing, places where people get to know each other. Here at St. John`s we have different home groups with different kinds of people, meeting at different times and in different places. One of the exciting things is that we have varied home groups, so that we cater for as many people as possible. Many have been blessed by becoming part of a home group. Growth happens in our home groups while relationships are built and strengthened.

Before writing this piece, I chatted to some of our folk who belong to home groups within our St. John`s family and all of them mentioned different aspects of home groups that stand out for them. A few talked about the support which they get on their Christian journey. Others mentioned how they have grown in their understanding of the Bible and in their discipleship. One or two found the sense of being able to share rather valuable…

You can also benefit by joining a group and enjoy that kind of fellowship. Over the next two or three weeks, we will focus on building up the vital ministry of home groups in our congregation. Listen carefully to those sharing in church – you may just want to join their home group!
