What next....?

The erupting volcano in Iceland has caused world-wide
distress and havoc. Those needing to travel by air are
especially aware of the chaos. In the last few months there
have been many natural disasters and phenomena. We have
heard of mud slides, earthquakes, floods, droughts and now
this volcano whose name many few people are able to
pronounce. Many will read into this that the ‘End times are
here (again?) and others will try and explain them
scientifically. It is dangerous to use these signs as heralds for
the end of the world because nobody really knows when that
will be. What I would like to say is that we need to remember
that God is still interested and involved with the world that
God has made. Although things go horribly wrong
sometimes, God is not to blame. It is just nature taking its
course. I still believe stubbornly that God loves this world,
cares for it and has a plan for it and for those who live in it.
So, when we ask “What next?” God doesn’t. God instead
holds us all more firmly in His hand.
