"THE SUMMER CELEBRATION"

..and did we celebrate!! What an exhilarating experience – albeit hard work with trying to cover all aspects of putting a show together (a new experience for Potter’s House staff, believe me!). But the most exciting part was the fact that so many members of our community wanted to be part of “The Summer Celebration”.

This idea, birthed by people who love St. John’s and wanted to do something to raise funds, proved to be a wonderful catalyst to show the incredible unity St. John’s aspires to in it’s diversity! This experience, for all who were part of it, was amazing because the ultimate goal of everyone was to entertain, to share, celebrate and enjoy each others’ talents!

The show was long and you had a surfeit of St. John’s talent, but how can we say to our people who want to be part of something special for St. John’s, “Sorry, but we don’t have the time for you”? We understand that some of you did have plans early in the evening and had to leave before the show ended. But for those who were able to stay – did you not celebrate the harmony and vibrancy of the finale when most of the members of the cast joined in with WiDJet and young James van der Merwe in singing “Come sail away...with me”?

Well, there is the invitation! The renovations to the lower hall are commencing in January next year, so we are inviting you, with great excitement, to “come sail away” with us as the vision for us as a community of faith in Central finally becomes a reality!

Blessings,
Kerryn
