2010 is almost gone
and we reflect on what we’ve done
Have we practiced what He taught
Have we lived the way we ought.
Have we welcomed the hesitant stranger?
Or shared our food with those who hunger?
Have we been loving, warm and giving
Making someone’s life worth living?
Have you touched the cheek of one who grieves
And sat in the silence that it leaves
Have you held the hand of one who fears
And wiped away guilt ridden tears?
Have you told of the birth of the One who brings
Love, Joy and Forgiveness of sins
Do they know that alone they’ll never be
Because He promised this to you and me.
How much You love us we can’t conceive
Imperfect, broken, so unworthy
But still You came, as a baby boy
What sacrifice to bring us joy!
And so we await Your Holy Birth
Again Your promise of peace on earth
Is offered to us in all Your glory
A precious gift – a wondrous story!
