As we start to finish off for the year, it’s clear to me that a lot of people have been working really hard these past few months; getting a little bit of extra work in for lost time during the year and so on.
Even here at St. John’s we’re frightfully aware of all the things that need to be done before Christmas. Maybe you’re one of the lucky ones who perhaps planned your year well in advance and you’re just winding down to your summer break, but for the rest of us let me remind you (and myself!) to remember to breathe.
Take the time to relax and focus, and make sure you get to meet with God in your daily life. He is still at work in us and even though we may not have had time for Him, He is longing to share in our concerns and help us through the stress and rush of closing off another year.
Before we know it, everything will be done and polished and we can go and relax with friends and family. So let me take this opportunity to wish you all a festive holiday with lots of ice cream, sunny days on the beach, plenty of smiles and hugs. May you make the most of your time with friends and family, and let us go out and love one another as our Teacher has shown us.
