So many of us battle to get on touch with our neediness, don't we! We like to be known as confident, self-sufficient people.
However I think we learnt this past Sunday from Bartimaeus, the blind man, who asked Jesus very vocally, for mercy,that when we bring our need to Jesus- He is able to work a miracle that goes much deeper than our point of need.
Bartimaeus regained his sight, but also experienced the eyes of his heart opening as the first thing he did was he began to follow Jesus!
Makes me, Miss Self-sufficiency,begin to think that sharing my needs with Jesus could become a precious moment of growth in my life!
What of sharing those needs with some of the folk in the community, that could be really interesting!
