LET'S CHAT ABOUT TRUST …………

A few Sunday evenings ago, Barry asked us this question – it’s
a question worth reflecting upon-
“Who do you trust?”
“Who do you really trust?”

Do you recall the story of Jesus calming the storm?

One day Jesus got into a boat with his disciples and He said to
them let’s go to the other side of the lake. They were headed for
Gergesa.
It was an eventful trip : Jesus fell asleep, a windstorm came up the
waves were huge. The disciples woke Jesus and said “Don’t you care
if we drown!”
“Why can’t you trust me?” Jesus replied as he calmed the storm.

The good news we shared on Sunday is that Jesus is not only able
to calm the storms related to the weather but Jesus is aware of the storms
within each of our lives and is happy for us to tell Him about these storms.
I don’t think that the storms necessarily just vanish when we speak to
Jesus about them, but what I do feel is this :
Even in the storm we are able to find a peace, a calmness, within ourselves.

I can only describe this as a gift from Jesus to us, as we open ourselves
to Him and as we trust in Him.

I wonder how you feel about this? Is this your experience?

Have you experienced God being very present in the storms in your life?
My sense is He cares, He really cares, for us as individual people, we are
never out of His grace and His love.

Clearly through Jesus ministry we see this reflection of God the compassionate carer–

Jesus really sees the leper, the blind man, the widow whose son has just
died, the prostitute …….

The lord is my shepherd I shall not be in want,
He makes me lie down in green pastures,
He leads me beside the quiet waters,
He restores my soul.

Do we know these words to be true.

Are these words reality in our lives?
