RETREAT AT ST. LUKE’S – NAZARETH HOUSE
Last weekend 14 ladies went to St. Luke’s retreat centre at Nazareth
House and what a blessing it was for everyone. The venue is wonderful –
clean, neat, spacious and well appointed, so there was no sense of
‘slumming’ at all! We took time out from our busy schedules to simply
be with Jesus and to reflect on our own spiritual journey. We allowed
Psalm 46 to guide us during this time, and we also had many raw materials –
clay, paper, pictures, beads, flowers and a table filled with goodies, and we
were encouraged to pray in new and creative ways. Some of us never
realized that we were actually quite good at pottery … and what a revelation
it was to know that making a little bead cross, or designing a little clay pot with
our hands, was actually a prayer! At our service on Sunday morning we sang
“Be Still and know that I am God” in English and Xhosa and Carol felt that
we could almost go on tour……….
