Feel it.......it's here!

The World Cup is here, and we are “feeling it” but
what bothers me are all the other less impressive
and less exciting things that we are not feeling!
South Africa is currently classified as a developing
country, based on its gross domestic product
(GDP), and we are ranked 25th in the world. But we
face huge challenges, such as poverty, lack of
quality education, the high crime rate, corruption,
HIV/AIDS, and unemployment.
Unemployment is, in my opinion, our biggest
problem – the figures are very high; and the
number of formal jobs in South Africa has
decreased, whilst the number of informal jobs has
increased.
Will these things change, after the World Cup? I
hope and pray that these challenges will be better
addressed, and the budgets allocated to them
increased in 2011, after the World Cup, so that we
will all be able to “feel it” even more.
