I reflected on the fact that we as human beings are often tempted to pass responsibility over onto others. We are prone to blame others:
- Our PAST, our Parents... for the way we are today.
- Our PRESENT circumstances, our Peers or a Partner.
Personal Growth flows from Taking Responsibility for our lives. We need to take responsibility for our Bodies - the choices we make will determine much about our future. We need to take responsibility for our Emotional and Intellectual growth. We may choose to blame a teacher or the education system for bad results - or we may choose to say "My results were disappointing". We need to take responsibility for our spiritual growth and make choices that affirm our desire to grow in relationship with God and in wholeness.
Paul writes that we should "grow up into him who is the Head, that is, Christ." - Hebrews 4:15
